Recycling

Shamrock Environmental Landfill believes wholeheartedly in the recycling and processing of waste.

SKB’s system allows for the efficient, economical recovery of numerous resources and diverts valuable materials from the waste stream saving precious landfill airspace and reducing the need for virgin resources. Concrete and metal are consistently at the top of our list of recycled materials. However, other materials such as corrugated cardboard, brick, vinyl siding can also be separated from the waste stream and recycled.

Given our experience and results at other facilities we’ve owned and operated, SKB has plans to expand our processing capabilities to include shingle waste and clean wood.  Shingle waste is processed and ground for use as recycled material in asphalt road projects. Separated wood is either recycled or used as a biomass fuel product. All residual waste is disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner.

SKB has been integrally involved in the development of regulations and best management practices that ensure that the recycling, processing, and end use of this waste stream is done in an environmentally responsible manner – thus ensuring the stable long-term viability of C&D recycling.

LEED Certification

SKB Landfill also is capable of offering expanded recycling services to accommodate projects meeting the requirements of the US Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Program and the State of Minnesota’s Sustainable Building Guidelines (B3).
